Background
After leaving Runshaw College top of the class, I made my way to Leeds Metropolitan Uni (Carnegie) to study PE. After completing 2 years of the course, I left and worked for Endsleigh Insurance in Burnley for 2 years where I made great contacts with dozens of pro footballers, handling all of their insurance needs.
After making & breaking records in insurance, I left in June 2000 to prepare for and research children’s footie coaching. In October 2001, I ran Teamtheme’s 1st after school football course at my old junior school in my home town of Leyland and have never looked back since.
Footie History
Been footie coaching for over 14 years now, working part time in holidays when off college & Uni to full time since Oct 2001.
Worked with Teamtheme since 1994, organising & managing sports tours & tournaments.
Played football at Wembley in 1997, representing PNE in the supporters 6 a side final.
Best Footie Moment
Playing at Wembley in 1997 & Deepdale April 2004 & 2008
Ambition
I’ll always be involved with Teamtheme but when things are running more smoothly that I can ‘step to the side’ a bit, my ambition and goal in life is to become a professional football referee. After retiring from reffing at 45 – 50, and having completed all my coaching badges in the meantime, could I then go into pro club coaching / management – has this ever been done before I wonder? from referee to manager! Imagine, watch this space…!!!
